Obituary of Andrew "Drew" J Velten

Andrew "Drew" J. Velten, age 57 years, of Merchantville, Formerly of West Islip, NY passed away peacefully on February 13, 2017 surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Sharon (nee Flem); Loving father of Alyssa, Meghan & Kathryn; Loving Pop-pop of Emma; Dear son of Marie and the late Andrew Velten; Also survived by many caring nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. Drew worked at Pragmatics Inc. as a Program Manager for over 30 years. His career was one of the highlights of his life and he took pride in his success. He cherished his relationships with his colleagues, who became like family to him. Drew was also a past president and longtime member of the Merchantville School Board. Drew fought a courageous battle with cancer. Although the odds were against him, he was able to extend his precious time with his family due to his bravery and strength. He loved to golf and was a member of the Merchantville Country Club. He also enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, gardening, and grilling. Most of all, Drew enjoyed his time with his wife, daughters and granddaughter Emma. Relatives & friends are invited to the Visitation & Funeral on Friday from 5 to 8 PM and Saturday from 8:15 to 9:15 AM at Falco Caruso & Leonard Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM at the Church of St. Peter, 43 W. Maple Avenue in Merchantville. Interment Locustwood Memorial Park in Cherry Hill.
