Obituary of Ernest Harry Delp

Passed away peacefully on March 17, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of the late Betty (nee Schadler); Devoted father of Rickey Delp, Daryl (Victoria) Delp, Pam Delp, Cindy Barnes, Annette (Paul) Sikorski, Scott Delp and Diane (Joe) Griffin. Cherished grandfather of 17, and great grandfather also of 17. Predeceased by his son Larry (and the late Marion Delp) and David (Arlene) Delp. Ernie was an avid golfer who was a longtime member of the Pennsauken Country Club. He was also a die-hard Penn State fan. He loved the Philadelphia Phillies and attended Spring Training every year. He was heavily involved with the South Jersey Hall of Fame Umpires. He was a devoted member of the New Jersey Baseball Association and served as their rules interpreter. He was elected into the South Jersey Hot Stover's Hall of Fame in 2009 for his many years of honorable service as an umpire. Relatives & friends are invited to the Visitation & Funeral on Tuesday from 7 to 9 PM and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Falco Caruso & Leonard Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning RD in Pennsauken. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11 AM at the Pennsauken Methodist Church 3541 Pennsylvania Ave in Pennsauken. Interment Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson.
