Obituary of Marie L Tomei

Marie L. Tomei of Haddon Heights, (nee Nardelli) died peacefully in her sleep on March 21, 2017 surrounded by family at her residence in Boynton Beach FL at 89 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Vincent. She was a devoted mother to Mark Tomei (Christine); loving grandmother of Thomas R Tomei II, Lynn Costello (Michael); Michael Tomei and Matthew Tomei; Doting great-grandmother of Lana, Lauren and Amanda Costello. She is also survived by her niece Sharon Bertel and her children Jennifer and David Moore and nephew Bruce Bertel. She is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Katherine Nardelli as well as her sister Mildred Bertel. During her youth, Marie was an avid bowler, carrying a 160 average and a host of 200 games. She was an excellent ballroom dancer. She loved the rhumba and would drag Vincent on the dance floor every chance she could get! Marie and Vince thoroughly enjoyed traveling. They managed to explore the seven continents visiting places like Russia (Moscow, St Petersburg), Italy (Rome, Florence etc. as well as their ancestral villages of Gorgofreddo and Sora), Spain, Brazil (Rio), Germany, England, Egypt, Japan, Kenya, Australia, Hong Kong and so many more as well as visiting the continental US. Marie loved spending time with her family, visiting the casinos, doing puzzles, shopping and she especially loved gardening and flowers of all kind. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate her life Friday March 31st from 7 to 9 PM and Saturday April 1st from 10 to 11 AM at the Falco Caruso & Leonard Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning RD in Pennsauken. A Funeral service will be celebrated at 11 AM. Entombment Calvary Mausoleum in Cherry Hill. For those that wish to, flowers should be sent to the funeral home or a donation can be made in the name of Marie Tomei, to the Wounded Warrior Project, St Jude's, or the Make A Wish Foundation.
