Obituary of Anthony DiGioia

Anthony "Tony" DiGioia, age 88 years of Maple Shade, formerly of Pennsauken, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2017 at CareOne Harmony Village in Moorestown. Beloved husband of the late Leona (nee Hyman). Devoted father of Doretta DiGioia, Alfred and his wife Pam, Tony and his wife Lori, Lisa DiGioia and Dean. Loving poppop of Andrea (Jack), Angela (Jay), Dana (Nhan), Samantha, Dominic (Rachel), Gina, Gage and Stevie and great poppop of Madison, Vanessa, Ethan, Zachary and Lucas. Dear brother of Marie Guarino (the late John) and the late Jimmy, Joseph (the late Loretta) and Philip. Also survived by sisters in law, Lucy and Rose, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Prior to retirement in 1993, Anthony was employed at the Philadelphia Inquirer for 37 years. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War and was a talented trumpet player in a band when he was younger. Anthony loved to travel with his wife and siblings, enjoyed playing golf and tennis, going to the casinos and most of all spending time with his family. Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Sunday from 6-8 PM and Monday from 10-11 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11 AM. Interment will be private.
