Dad,
The words cannot express my feelings right now. I did not expect this outcome...I will miss you dearly. Thank you for being my father, my friend, my protector & a great grandfather. thank you for many laughs, the selfies and our short but meaningful phone calls! the last 3 months have been bittersweet. I loved spending so much time with you but now I wonder where the time went. through this process Marilyn has been trying to "Pause" things...lol and I agree it's all too fast!! I know God has you but my heart hurts right now. I know you are watching over us, but I want you here. I know life has a cycle but why now? I also know in time I will get my answers and God will guide me through.
I love you so much and will see you again, until then stay close & know that I'm ok, just like we talked about.
Love your daughter Tammy.
Gerry, my dear friend, father figure, and cheer leader, I will miss your words of encouragement, your sincere concern for our wellbeing, and our Atlantic City trips.
You gambled with life, and you won. You won three great kids, many grandchildren, and a wonderful life partner til the end. Your blessings didn't end there, you were surrounded by wonderful friends.
Your legacy will last an eternity within the life of hundreds of children you rescued from harm's way. You served your country well from the streets of Camden to the jungles of Vietnam.
I am proud to call you my DEAR FRIEND.
