Sending love and light to the Gibson Family, I met Fernando last year at the mamba 100 race, I believe he run the 100K, can’t remember, but I watched him run with so much strength, I learned about his journey with cancer while he was taking a break and I was amazed by his courage, performance and dedication to this sport, he encouraged me and many others to keep going and never give up.
I was not aware of his passing until today, I looked him up and found his obituary.
My condolences to his family and friends and everyone who he impacted with his example and love he had for life. May he rest in eternal peace. ❤️
Deepest condolences to Sandra, Miguel, and the family! May time bring peace and comfort. I’ll remember Fernando as being kind, funny, smart, compassionate, as well as having the biggest heart. Sure did share some fun times! You are missed.

My friend Fernando as we mourn your passing, there are many ways we can remember you. Of course, as an avid runner who supported all runners running any distance. We can also remember you as an amazing craftsman who brought unique tools furniture back to life. For me I will you as a family man. The love and devotion you had for Miguel and Sandra were unparalleled. The way you looked at them, held them and talked about them is what I’ll remember most. You also had an amazing way of making all of us feel like we were part of your family. Now that you’re finally free from all the pain that cancer brings may you rest in peace.
Fernando, thank you for being such a good friend and inspiration. I am glad to know you passed away in June rather than now. The thought of you suffering was sad. I am glad that prior to your death you accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior. Now I know we will see each other again someday in heaven. Prayers to your family.
The world has lost a bright light. Fernando you were one of the kindness gentlest people that I ever met. Who else would have stopped at the side of the road to comfort an injured deer or take in a baby squirrel? Heaven has truly gained an Angel. I will miss you.
