Obituary of Eduvigis Aviles

Eduvigis Aviles, age 67 of Clementon, formerly of Camden, passed away on March 4, 2025 at Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden, New Jersey.  She was born on September 20, 1957 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico to Serafina Villafane and the late Enrique Aviles Sr.

Beloved mother of SeLina Aviles and Stephanie Sarne (Anthony); Loving grandmother of Izell Jr., RayShaun, Violet, Taina and Giovanni; Dear sister of Jose Antonio Aviles, German Rivera (Nelly), Hector Aviles (Sara), Victor Aviles, Raul Aviles, Gloria Johnson (Mark), and the late Jose, Ana Maria and Enrique Aviles Jr.; Cherised godmother of Shayla and Nyla Johnson; Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

Prior to her retirement, Ms. Aviles was employed with the Camden Board of Education for over 35 years, retiring after 28 years as a teacher at the R.C. Molina School.  She was also a CCD teacher at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Camden and St. Charles Borromeo Church in Sicklerville.  Eduvigis loved celebrating the holidays, especially Christmas where she could spoil her family.  She was an excellent cook, and was well known for her yellow rice and gandules.  She was a crafter, enjoyed going bowling, and loved listening to Spanish music and singing to the children in the family.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Thursday, March 13 from 6 to 8 PM and Friday, March 14 from 10 to 11 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family for the future needs of Eduvigis' grandchildren.
