Obituary of Juan Antonio Martinez

Juan "John" Antonio Martinez, age 91 years of Mt. Ephraim, formerly of Camden, passed away on May 3, 2025.  Born on September 27, 1933 in Fajardo, Puerto Rico to the late Juan and Nicolasa Martinez (nee Cruz).

Beloved husband of Carmen Cordero and the late Carmen Martinez (nee Morales).  Devoted father of John R. Martinez, Yvonne Martinez-Vega (David), Elva Vazquez (Tony), Manuel A. Martinez (Maritza), and Anthony Martinez (Marino Gonzalez).  Loving grandfather of Misty, Louisette, Jose, Juan, Christina, David Javier, Manuel, Alyssa, Robert, Amanda, and John Eric and great grandfather of many.  Dear brother of Jose, Miguel, Wilfredo, Ana, and the late Gloria Guzman.  Also survived by special niece, Elizabeth Guzman as well as many other loving nieces and nephews.

Prior to retirement, John was employed with the Dept of Public Works in Camden for 14 years and prior to that he was self employed as owner/operator for Sparklean Floor Service for 21 years.  John was a member of the senior bowling league in Pitman and the Spanish bowling league in Camden.  He enjoyed fishing, bowling, trips to the casinos, playing the lottery and spending time with his family.  

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Monday, May 12, 2025 from 8:45-9:45 AM at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Church, 642 Market Street in Camden, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM.  Entombment will follow at Calvary in Cherry Hill.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street Suite 1 Robbinsville, NJ 08691 OR Susan G.
