Obituary of Margarita Fernandez

Margarita Fernandez (nee Mendoza), age 83 of Camden for over 65 years, passed away on May 7, 2025 at Virtua Hospital in Voorhees.  She was born in Aguada, Puerto Rico on January 26, 1942 to the late Adelaino Mendoza-Chaparro and Juana Crespo-Chaparro.

Beloved wife of Perfecto Perez-Villarrubia; Devoted mother of Carmen Ruiz, Zoraida Ruiz, Maria Ruiz, Lydia Lambersky (Howard), Jose Ruiz (Maria) and the late Carlos Ruiz; Loving grandmother of Elsie Concepcion, Zoraida Pagan, Kristie Candelaria, Jocelyn Cruz, Tonilyn Villanueva, Hector Gomez, Xavier Runcie, Bernadette Lambersky, Jordan Ruiz and Zujay Casalnova; Cherished great grandmother of Joelisse Rolon, Jose Feliciano, Juliette Feliciano, Jazlyn Pagan, Valentino Cruz, Romeo Villanueva, Valentina Villanueva, Skylar Gomez, Valentino Casalnova and great great grandmother of Nathaliya and Arriyah Brown-Concepcion; Dear brother of Mariano Mendoza.

Margarita was an Avon salesperson for over 30 years, and loved playing dominoes, cooking and watching her telenovelas.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 8:30 to 10:30 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM at St. Joseph Pro Cathedral, 2907 Federal Street in Camden.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
