Obituary of Jose R. Martinez

Jose R. Martinez, age 61 years of Camden, passed away on June 23, 2025.  Born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Juan L. Martinez and Anna Marin.

Devoted father Joseph Martinez (Luz), Francisco Martinez, Erica Martinez (Rene Lebron), Jose Martinez, India Martinez, Ana Martinez, Joel Martinez, Nia Mendez, Bianca Mendez and Ismael Munoz.  Loving grandfather of Yaliza, Francisco Jr., Joseph Jr., Julius, Xavier, Jeremiah, Lilyana, Jeremiah and Joel Jr.  Dear brother of Ana Cadiz (Carlito), Maria Jones, Milagros Colon, and the late Nilda Rivera.  Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Jose lived a life defined by hard work, deep love for his family, and a passion for the simple joys. Whether he was casting a line into his favorite fishing spot, teeing off on a quiet morning, or drawing.  He enjoyed listening to Gospel music and was always ready with a piece of advice, that turned into a lecture, but to help—grounded in experience, spoken with humility, and received with gratitude.  Jose loved nothing more than spending time with his family, whether at a backyard barbecue, a weekend getaway, or simply sitting together in the living room. He worked hard, not for recognition, but out of a deep sense of responsibility and pride.  Jose will be missed by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Friday, June 27, 2025, from 9:30-11 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
