Obituary of Richard W. Fitzgerald

Richard W. Fitzgerald, age 65 years, of Haddon Twp passed away on August 6, 2025.  A beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. 

Devoted son of Elizabeth “Betty” Fitzgerald (nee Brooks) and the late Eugene G. Fitzgerald Sr.  Loving brother of Barbara Gale (the late Owen), Edward (Judy), Michael, Stephen (Jennifer) and the late Elizabeth “Betsey” Smetona, Eugene Jr., and Dennis.  Also survived by brother-in-law, Joseph Smetona, sister-in-law, June Fitzgerald, longtime friend Darryl Clark and many loving nieces and nephews.

Prior to his recent retirement, Richard was a Senior Electrical Designer.  He was an avid gardener and cook and enjoyed summer vacations with family in North Wildwood, NJ. 

He touched the lives of many with his generosity and humor.  Richard had a calm spirit, kind heart and his deep empathetic nature was a gift to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.  He was a kind and giving soul and will be dearly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Monday, August 11, 2025, from 6-8 PM and Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 9-10 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road.  A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM.  Final disposition will take place privately at a later date at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John of God Community, 1147 Delsea Dr Building A, Westville, NJ 08093.
