I met TR when we were 5 years old and here I am saying goodbye to him 75 years of friendship later. I was thankful to see him two days before he passed. We were both avid baseball fans. He loved the Cardinals and I loved the Phils. As I looked down at him holding back my tears, I wondered what could I say to him. Out of nowhere words came out of my mouth..."the Cardinals traded their closer" and he said "Flakes I told you they always get rid of their best players!" Fittingly, his last words to me were about baseball...I miss you my friend.

Sincere Condolences for your loss. My friend "TR" had a special way of giving nicknames to people and those nicknames were perfectly crafted. He was a good man and played some softball back in the day! (DFW Tournament) Tommy was my friend and for that I am grateful. He will ne missed. ~Rest well dear friend "Cool" Ed Peterson

Tommy my neighbor
My family and i have known and lived close to Tommy for about 20 years. The only characteristic i can describe of Tommy is that he is a selfless person.Tommy will help you as much as is in his means and it doesn’t matter who you are.
Tommy took my kids to school in the morning when they miss their buses in the morning or get locked out of the house in the morning while we are not home because i work at night and my husband goes to work in New york. Tommy is an angel waiting to assist . Whenever i leave the trunk of my car open by some means he will find out tell Joanne to call me,when our mail was displaced he will bring it to us, he will get us groceries that he and Joan got but was too much for them , he will bring it to our door, who does that in today’s world when everyone is about themselves.
When you have a neighbor like Tommy be ready to strike a conversation of the weather or what’s going on in the area, we will miss you Tommy.May the good Lord have you to enter into His rest , rest well Tommy.

Uncle Tommy shouted “Pearlstein!” whenever he saw me and always followed that with a great laugh.
Whether he was tossing a water bottle to me over the Camden Catholic fence as I was running by in high school, or he was helping the late Dave Wilson tie a Windsor knot, Uncle Tommy always did it with class and kindness.
Christina, Kai and I mourn for Aunt Joanne, Lorraine, Stef, Rico, Lois, Steve and all the grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends who loved Uncle Tommy Rhile. May he finally pitch that perfect game in heaven.

Joanne, I’m so sorry for your loss. You and Tommy had a marriage that was truly anointed by God, I know how much you loved each other.
I Feel so Blessed to have seen Tommy two days before he left us. Tommy, you were truly one of the nicest guys I’ve ever had the privilege to know. We spent a lot of great times together being seventeen and into our twenties with our fast cars. We actually lived the movie “American Graffiti”
Even through our adult lives when we were in touch it was right where we left off as teenagers. Your kindness, warmth, and genuine spirit touched everyone around you. My thoughts and prayers are with your family during this difficult time, and I hope they find comfort in the love and memories you leave behind. May God Bless your spirit Tom, Joanne and your family

As I looked at my phone this morning, I was shocked and saddened with tears in my eyes to see the passing of such a wonderful man Tommy. He was like a father figure to me , a young Australian girl who didn’t know anyone moved to America to Marry the love of my life Vinnie. I met Tom and Joanne through my Step Daughter Jennifer. Tommy was kind gentle , loyal, a fantastic story teller, strong and that beautiful smile always made me welcome in his home. When my Dad came to America for my Wedding in 1988 he met Tommy and made such a wonderful impression on my Dad. He loved Tom and now they are flying high and talking about football and Baseball “17 and exchanging wonderful stories. He is going to be sadly missed. Joanne Girlfriend I’m lost for words my heart aches for you. I wish I could be there for you to give you support and comfort with a big hug. I miss you girl. May God give you strength and comfort and wrap his arms around you and your family. Lorraine and Stefanie and family words can not express the sadness you and feeling, you are both beautiful women. He was so proud of both of you. I’m sending you all the love hugs and strength . May god bless you all always. FLY high Tommy RIP number 17 and yes I am a Capricorn too xo sending lots of love hugs , kisses and prayers. Lots of love Vinnie , Deborah, Jessica, Emily and Dorothy my mum . The Romea family xxxxx

James McAndrew (laddie) here - I am truly sad to hear this news. I too worked about twelve years on midnights with Tommy and have so many happy memories. He was alot of fun to work with. One time I stood beside him at the mirror in the bathroom at work and he was combing that hair slowly. I said to him is 'is that necessary you are just going out on the ramp to work'. He says to me 'we always have to look good on the ramp Lad'. Always after that he'd repeat that to me at the mirror. Another time he'd say 'I've only got 15,476 more seats to clean before I retire - how about you'
Other times there would be a silly story on the news on TV and he'd always ask me 'what do you think of that Lad'
So I just want his family to know that we all loved working alongside him at AA.
Take care ...

My deepest condolences to the entire family. I worked with TR at American Airlines. We worked together on the night shift for about 12 years. Tommy was one of the greatest men that I have ever met I shared the softball field with him as well in the airport league. Tommy was an automatic hit when he got to the plate. Tommy always had a nickname for someone and some were pretty unique. Truly a class act and anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him and talked to him for a bit had definitely been blessed by greatness. RIP Tommy was an honor to have worked with you and most of all just to have known you. Thanks for all the memories Rich Pinkerton

My deepest condolences to your family.
Pop Pop was an unbelievably brave gentleman who fought so hard, and now he can finally rest easy. Heaven has gained such a beautiful soul and a great role model for all of us to look up to.
Every time I came by for dinner or a house party, you always made sure I was eating so much, and treated me with such kindness, even though I was just one of Bella’s friend. That generosity and warmth spoke volumes about the man you were.
Your family is truly blessed to have had someone as kind, respectful, and loving as you in their lives. You are deeply loved for the way you treated everyone around you, and you will be missed dearly.
Much love, Pop Pop. Rest easy now. ❤️

Dear Joanne and Family,
It was with great sadness that I learned of Tommy’s passing. I do not know where to begin as Tommy and you have been very important people in my life. I was so honored as a young girl to be asked to be your maid of honor. There are so many wonderful memories throughout the years. I will always remember is infectious smile and warm heart always making me feel welcomed. I know one thing for sure, Aunt Venia will be so happy to see him especially the way he loved her. He touched so many lives with his kindness, smile and his dedication to his family and his moral values. He will definitely be missed by many. His passing has left a hole in my heart.
Please know that I am thinking of you, Joanne during this difficult time. If there is anything at all I can do to help, please do not hesitate to reach out I will be there for you. Whether you need a shoulder to cry on, help with errands or rides or just someone to talk to, I am here for you.
With my deepest sympathy,
Love Annette

Joanne and family,
Susan and I offer condolences to you for the immeasurable loss of Tommy
An enduring marriage of over 50 years. Two daughters four granddaughters wow. That’s quite a “ box score”as Tom may have put it.
Tony and I were his teammates on the PYAA Black Sox back in 1958. 58!!!!! Wish I could run like him
Take heart. I know Tony is having a catch with Tommy even as I write this
