Michael and I first connected years ago through our shared love of the Eagles, and over the years, we shared good times and disappointments.
When my girls and I were going through a difficult transition, he opened his home to us and, in doing so, quickly went from friend to part of our family. Out of those times, we created a tradition together, one built on the need for connection and family when life felt uncertain. That tradition grew into a circle of acceptance, gratitude, and love, and Michael was always at its heart.
He carried struggles I could never fully understand, but he also carried honesty, love, and the courage to share his journey. There were highs and lows, tears and laughter, but always respect and understanding.
I will miss you Michael Cip. I will remember you, honor you, and carry forward the love and acceptance you helped create. I do not think misfit will ever be the same. I hope you are at peace and dancing again with Nana, Papa Joe, and Pop Pop. So many memories I will cherish.
