Ivanette Peterson

Obituary of Ivanette Peterson

Ivanette Peterson (nee Bundy), age 84 years of Willingboro, was called to the Lord peacefully in her home amongst her family on October 10, 2025.

Ivanette aka Ivy or Lovey was born in Delair, New Jersey on July 2, 1941 to the late Roy and Grace Bundy (nee Street). She was educated in the Pennsauken and Palmyra school systems. Growing up in Delair, she met and fell in love with the late Robert Peterson Sr. Through their union they had 3 beautiful children: Lynne’, Robert Jr. and Terri. They celebrated 53 years of marriage! Throughout their marriage, they loved dancing in the living room together and traveling. They’ve gone to Hawaii, Acapulco (which was “a trip to remember”), St. Thomas, St. Martin, St. Croix, St. John, Puerto Rico, Las Vegas and more.

In her younger years, she spent her summers in Millsboro, Delaware with her cousins Marilyn (Gig) and Tuby. She was a member of the Nanticoke Indian Association as well as Powhatan Renape Nation and would attend powwows with her mother, sisters and grandchildren.

She worked as a cashier at Shopping Bag before retiring from Head Start as the supervising head cook after serving over 30 years. Lovey had a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Even at work she started the “Sunshine Club” and would sell coffee, water and other goodies. If you didn’t have the funds, she wouldn’t mind giving it to you but you better make sure you pay up eventually or she would kindly let you know lol. Over the years, she found success selling Tupperware, Avon, and Popular Club. Her dedication paid off—she even won a car through her sales, a proud reminder of her hard work and drive. Whatever she set her mind to, she exceeded it. Outside of work, Ivy enjoyed watching her shows on the Discovery Channel, Food Network, Chicago Med, Chicago Fire and Chicago PD. She also enjoyed playing bingo, taking trips to the casinos, cooking but mostly spending time with her family and friends.

To know Lovey, was to know love, hence her nickname. She was never afraid to say how she felt or what she thought, but you always knew it came from a place of endearment. She would give her last to the people she cared for and loved-without question. She was a bright light in whatever room she walked in too. Her genuine kindness, compassion for others and spirited personality are gifts that will continue to live on through her family forever.

Ivy leaves to cherish her memories: Lynné Langston, the late Robert Peterson Jr., Terri Corchado (Luis). Loving grandmother of Darryl Langston Jr., Darnell Langston, Desmon Langston, Donte Langston, Destiny Langston, Robert Peterson III, and Teresa Corchado-Leviston (Kris). Cherished great grandmother of Nasseer Langston, SaNiyah Langston, Danielle Langston, and Mina Langston. Dear sister of the late Marian Wright (the late Harry), Patricia Wright (the late Robert), and Rev. Roy Bundy (Cynthia). In-Laws: Adele Wilson, Olga Bundy, James Peterson Jr. (Maxine), Janice Carter (Rodolpha), as well as many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
