Obituary of Robert Edward Travis
Robert Edward Travis, age 88 of Dagsboro, Delaware, formerly of Pennsauken, New Jersey, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 11, 2025.
Beloved husband of the late Diane Marie Travis (nee Rodgers). Devoted father of Robert E. Travis Jr., Douglas F. Travis, Michael C. Travis (Heather), and David J. Travis (Patti). Loving grandfather (Pop Pop) of Grace Diane Travis, Jack Patrick Travis, Claire Elizabeth Travis, Diana Elizabeth Travis, Michael Joseph Travis, Ashley Miller, and Matthew Travis. Dear brother of the late Charles Travis, Catherine Travis, Frederick Travis, and John Travis.
Prior to his retirement, Robert served for 32 years in the U.S. Army, reaching the rank of Master Sergeant with the 63rd Army Band, where he played the cornet. He also worked as a skilled electrician. During retirement he spent his time fishing, crabbing and watching sports, especially Penn State Football, Duke Basketball, and the Philly sports teams. Most of all, Robert loved spending time with his grandchildren. Over the years he forged special relationships with them both collectively and individually. He spent countless times taking them on his boat “Got Away” to pull crab pots and go fishing together on the Indian River Bay. He frequently took them out to lunch just to talk and catch up. His immense pride and love for his grandchildren resulted in spoiling them with his famous picture birthday cakes, freezers full of ice cream and lavish steak dinners. While he will undoubtably be missed, the memories and traditions he afforded his family will live on for generations to come.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation & Funeral on Friday, October 17, 2025 from 9:30-11 AM at the Falco, Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N.
