Obituary of Emilia Olivo
Emilia Olivo, affectionately known as “Ronny,” of Pennsauken, NJ, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025, at Samaritan in Voorhees, surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous five year battle with colon cancer. She was 65 years old.
Born to the late Maria (née Branconi) and Raimondo D’Arco, Emilia was a cherished daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She was predeceased by her sister, Angelina Collepardi (née D’Arco), and her brothers, Serafino (John) D’Arco and Raymond D’Arco.
Emilia is lovingly survived by her daughters, Loren Appleton (née Olivo) and her husband Shaun, and Nicholle Olivo and her fiancé Juan Rosario Jr. She was the proud Mom-Mom of Jaiden Garcia, Avery Rosario, and Juan Rosario III, all of whom brought endless joy to her life. She will also be deeply missed by her five nieces and nephews and seven great-nieces and great-nephews.
For 40 plus years, Emilia worked as a devoted and talented hairdresser. Her caring spirit and warm personality made every client feel like family. She had a knack for lending an ear or a shoulder to cry on as she listened and never judged. She gave the best advice. Outside of work, she embraced life with enthusiasm — from metal detecting and playing three card poker, to enjoying long walks and movie nights with her grandchildren. She was always the first one to ask when the next Eagles game was and if the team made a bad play or even worse, lost the game, Emilia would fire the whole staff! She loved chocolate, “something cold to drink,” and a good meal. She also had a special gift for cooking. Her kitchen was filled with the aroma of her famous ribs, manicotti, chicken pot pie, stuffed peppers, and roasted chicken with all the fixings — meals made with love and shared with the people she cherished most.
Emilia’s sense of humor, kindness, and devotion to her family will be forever remembered. She always gave the best advice. She never judged anyone. Her legacy lives on in the laughter and love she shared with everyone who knew her. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
