Obituary of Luis Ruiz

Luis Ruiz, age 59 years of Philadelphia, PA, passed away on December 2, 2025.

Beloved son of the late Luis and Eliza Ruiz.  Devoted father of Angelina Eliza Ruiz.  Loving brother of Marisol Merola and her husband Arti.  Dear uncle of AJ and Sophia Merola.  Also survived by his canine nephew, Cooper. 

Prior to his illness, Luis was employed as a bus operator with Septa in Philadelphia for 32 years.  He was devoted parishioner at St. Ambrose Church in Philadelphia.  Luis found joy in life’s simple pleasures—settling in to watch a good movie, treating himself to a favorite dessert, and never turning down an ice-cold Mountain Dew. More than anything, he treasured time spent with his family and friends. His generous spirit, loving heart, and constant willingness to give of himself touched everyone who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 9-10 AM at St. Ambrose Church, 401 E. Roosevelt Blvd Philadelphia, PA, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM.  Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Philadelphia.
