Obituary of Emily Newton

Emily Newton (nee Nicotera), age 104 of Pennsauken, formerly of Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully at Spring Oaks Assisted Living in Voorhees on December 3, 2025.  She was born in Philadelphia on January 10, 1921 to the late Joseph and Philomena (nee DiMareo) Nicotera.

Devoted mother of Frederick (Joan) Newton, Stephen Newton and Deborah (late Mario) Ciabattoni; Loving grandmother of Emilia (Bryan), Gabriella, Frederick, Gregory, Bobby, Cynthia and Ki Sook and great grandmother of 12; Dear sister of the late Margaret, Ninfa, Gilda and Mario; Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Newton was a longtime sales associate at the Macy's in Cherry Hill.  She was a faithful parishioner at St. Peter's Church in Merchantville and had a special devotion to St. Anthony.  She also enjoyed relaxing with crossword puzzles.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Tuesday, December 9 from 10 to 11 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
