Obituary of Carmen Maria Torres
Carmen Maria Torres (nee Torres), age 89 years of Camden, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Orocovis, Puerto Rico to the late Felix and Modesta Torres.
Beloved wife of the late Victor. Devoted mother of Zaida Torres, Sister Carmen S. Torres, Edna Lopez (Edwin), Victor Torres (Gina), Lucy Fernandez, Robert Torres, and Sonia Flagg (the late David). Loving grandmother of Kristy (John), Robert (Glori), Jose, Neomi (June), VJ (Patty), Regino, Niaya, Saidie, Cynthia, Edwin Jr. (Ana), David, and Jessica (Matthew) and great grandmother of Ayden, Robert III, Luis Jr., Lexani, Nathan, Amelia, Blake, Aliyah, Brody, Amias, Savannah, Valentina, Jaelis, and Janalise. Dear sister of Neraida, Iris, Nina and Teresita. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Carmen was owner of Torres Food Market in Philadelphia with her late husband Victor and then worked for RCA as a packer. She loved gardening, cooking, sewing and crocheting. Most of all, Carmen cherished times spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Thursday, January 15, 2026 from 10-11 AM at St. Joseph Pro Cathedral Church, 2907 Federal Street in Camden, where a Mass of Chrisitan Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
