Obituary of Israel Tubens Velez

Israel Tubens Velez, age 82 of Boqueron, Puerto Rico, formerly of Cherry Hill, passed away suddenly on January 15, 2026.  He was born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico on July 13, 1943 to the late Manuel and Carmen (nee Sanchez) Tubens.

 

Beloved husband of Wanda (nee Roman); Devoted father of Israel Tubens Jr., Brenda Rodriguez (Edwin), Jacqueline Tubens, Francisco Tubens (Lisarda), and Christopher Tubens; Loving grandfather of Sasha, Victoria, Isabella, Jade, Siani, Melaina, Derek and Brandon and great grandfather of 5; Dear stepbrother of Samuel, Israel, Ruben and Victor Tubens.

 

Prior to his retirement, Israel worked on the Ben Franklin Bridge for the Delaware River Port Authority, where he retired after over 35 years reaching the position of toll collection supervisor.  He enjoyed spending time with friends and family, and watching boxing and baseball.

 

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Tuesday, February 17 from 9 to 11 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM.  Interment will follow at Locustwood Memorial Park in Cherry Hill.
