Obituary of Vilma J. Gambino

Vilma J. Gambino (nee Cerasaro) age 94 years of Maple Shade, formerly of Pennsauken, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026.

Beloved wife of the late Nicholas J. Gambino.  Cherished sister and best friend of Marisa Cerasaro.  Devoted mother of Donna L. Reese (the late Brian), Perry Gambino (Michelle), Michele Cavaliere (Paul) and Nicholas Gambino (Lisa).  Loving grandmother of Laura (Eric), Brooke (Steve), Erica (Kyle), Nicholas, Jessica, Michael, Anthony, and Mia and great grandmother of Ella, Jameson, Isla, Vinny, and Vera.  Also survived by many lifelong friends.

Vilma lived a full and steady life centered on her work, her interests, and, most importantly, her family.

She had a long and robust career, beginning as a secretary at RCA. She later worked as a secretary for the detectives of the Pennsauken Police Department and then retired as a secretary at Financial Recovery Services at the age of 78. 

Outside of work, Vilma enjoyed some of life’s simple pleasures. She liked going out to eat and trying new restaurants, listening to music, singing along to her favorite songs, and attending Broadway shows. She was also an amazing cook and took pride in preparing meals for those she loved.  Vilma’s heart and home were always open to those who needed it. 

Family was always most important to Vilma. She valued time spent together and found happiness in being surrounded by the people she cared about.  She was loved by EVERYONE and will be deeply missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 9:30-11 AM at the Catholic Community of Christ Our Light, 402 Kings Hwy N, Cherry Hill, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM.  Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
