Obituary of Agapita Zayas

Agapita Zayas, (nee Barrientos), age 89 years, of Camden, passed away on March 7, 2026.  Born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico to the late Julio Barrientos and Herminia Calaf.

Beloved wife of the late Hector Luis Zayas.  Devoted mother of Elsie Jimenez (Angel), Miguel Zayas (Lillian), Evelyn Hernandez (Jose), Nelson Zayas, Wilfredo Zayas (Iris), Ricardo Zayas (the late Lizette), and the late Hector Luis Zayas (Norma) and Judith Zayas.  Loving grandmother of 29, great grandmother of 29, and great, great grandmother of 1.  Dear sister of David Barrientos, Rosa Pena, and Anna Barrientos.  Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Agapita was devoted to her faith and church.  She loved cooking, traveling and most of all family gatherings.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 6-7:30 PM, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 PM and Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 10-11 AM, where a Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road .  Interment will follow at Locustwood Memorial Park in Cherry Hill.
