Ramona Alameda

Obituary of Ramona Alameda

Ramona Alameda, a cherished resident of Camden, New Jersey, for over 60 years, gained her wings to be with the Lord on March 22, 2026. Born in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico, on September 29, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Mateo Rodriguez and Iluminada Alameda.

Ramona was the heart of her family—a devoted mother to Luis (Debbie), Emiliano (Veronica), Nancy (Luis), and the late Angel Cruz. She was a source of endless love for her nine grandchildren: Jazmine, Luis Jr., Damon, Sydney, Emiliano III, Sebastian, Ramona, Amanda, and Jordan, as well as her nine great-grandchildren (with one more soon to arrive). For more than 20 years, she was the beloved companion of Samuel Morales.

She is survived by her siblings Juan, Confesor, Narciso, Maria, Hiram, and Margarita, and joins her late sisters Lydia and Rosa in eternal rest. Her many nieces and nephews will fondly remember her warmth and affection.

Ramona lived life with a spirited energy. She could often be found playing a competitive game of dominoes, listening to the upbeat rhythms of merengue, or enjoying her favorite shows, including wrestling, The Three Stooges, and I Love Lucy. Most of all, she cherished time spent with her family, especially when sharing a meal at Olive Garden or Red Lobster.

Her legacy of love, family devotion, and joy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Saturday from 9 to 11 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM.  Interment will follow at Harleigh Cemetery in Camden.
