Rose Maria Carter
August 15, 1962 – May 14, 2026

Rose Maria Carter began her life in Camden, New Jersey, where she attended Camden Public Schools and graduated from Wilson High School. After graduation, she worked as a microfiche operator and later as an assistant in an optometric clinic. It was there that she met the love of her life, Robert L. Carter, DDS. Together they shared 32 wonderful years of marriage built on love, faith, devotion, and partnership that brought them great happiness throughout their lives together.

Rose possessed a deep and lifelong passion for learning about God and the Holy Scriptures. Following the example of her father, she dedicated herself to continual biblical study, both formally and privately at home. Her faith became the cornerstone of her life. She later attended Liberty University, where she graduated and became an ordained chaplain specializing in prison ministry, devoting herself to bringing hope, compassion, and spiritual guidance to others.

Alongside her ministry, Rose worked closely with her husband in building a respected dental practice that touched the lives of thousands throughout New Jersey, West Virginia, and Delaware. She was admired and loved by countless patients, friends, and members of the community whose lives were made better through her kindness, warmth, and caring spirit.

Rose was happiest when traveling and exploring the world. She cherished experiencing new places, cultures, and adventures with those she loved. She also greatly enjoyed reading the Bible and studying history. Those who knew Rose will forever remember her kindness, strength, generosity, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family.

She was a faithful member of Capital Baptist Church in Dover, Delaware.

Rose leaves behind her loving husband, Robert L. Carter, DDS; her beloved mother, Petra Walderrama Diaz; her children, Charisa R. Datil, Lillian L. Datil, Gabriel Suarez, Robert L. Carter, Charles Carter, and Gladys Carter; her sisters, Elizabeth Carrion, Rebecca Walderrama, Lydia Soto, Annie O'Brien, and Eva Cuff; her brothers, Daniel Walderrama and Alejandro Walderrama; and her 12 cherished grandchildren.
