Obituary of Elizabeth Velez

Elizabeth Velez (nee Colon), age 82 years of Camden, passed away on June 3, 2026.

Beloved wife of the late Gilbert Velez. Devoted mother of Elizabeth Nieves (Julio), Luis Berrios, Lillian Sigall (Michael), Lynda Nunez, Leonardo Torres, and the late Jose Antonio Cruz and Larry Torres. Loving grandmother of many grandchildren and special grandson, Josue Cuevas, who she raised as a son. Dear sister of Maria Colon, Nilda Colon, Luis Colon, and Jose Colon. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth enjoyed cooking, watching novellas, going shopping and to the casinos. She loved talking with family and friends and spending time visiting those she cared about. In her younger years, Elizabeth liked to travel and enjoyed people-watching.

Elizabeth was known for her kind heart and enjoyed staying connected with others. She will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know her.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation & Funeral on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, from 10-11 AM at the Falco, Caruso & Leonard Camden Funeral Home, 3425 River Road, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM. Interment will follow at the Camden County Veterans Cemetery in Camden.
