Obituary of Doris Emma Levin

Doris Emma Yeager Gray Levin, 80, passed away peacefully at home on June 11, 2026. She was born on June 5, 1946, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and was preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude and Delroy Yeager.

Doris is survived by her children John Gray, Michele (Brian) Bottiglieri, and Kimberly (William) Metz, whom she loved with all her heart and was endlessly proud of. She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Levin. The bond they shared was unbreakable, and she carried his love with her always.

She is survived by her twin sister Mae (William) Mickles, with whom she shared countless adventures throughout their lives. The two were inseparable, creating memories that spanned a lifetime. Doris loved her sister Mae deeply, and the Twins will forever be remembered for the special, unbreakable bond they shared. Doris was preceded in death by her brother James (Esther) Yeager. She was also preceded in death by her grandsons Dean Gray and Jake Iller, and by her nephew Curtis Levin. She missed her grandsons Dean and Jake every day of her life, carrying their love with her always. She also held the memory of her nephew Curtis close to her heart.

Doris was also preceded in death by her brother‑in‑law Morris “Morry” Levin. She is survived by his wife, Sarah, who remained very special to her.

She is also survived by her grandchildren Michael Iller, Anthony King, Ryan Iller, William Metz Jr., Ashley Shields, Ryan Metz, Nicolas Bottiglieri, Samantha Iller, and Brody Bottiglieri, as well as her great-grandchildren Jordan, Landon, Liliana, Reagan, and Ellie. She adored each and every one of them and was so proud of all their accomplishments. To all of them, she was lovingly known as “NanNan,” a name they will forever cherish.

She is also survived by her nieces Valerie Lieberman, Denise Wright, and Kellie Craven, along with many other nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends. She is also survived by Rachel Kirk, who was as close to her as a daughter and loved as family.

A proud Philadelphian, Doris was a lifelong fan of the Phillies and the Eagles. She attended the 1980 Phillies World Series, one of her favorite memories, and she was overjoyed to witness the Eagles win two Super Bowls, celebrating each victory with pride and excitement.

Doris was the longtime owner of Town Food Market in Center City Philadelphia. She enjoyed the casino—especially the slot machines—loved Chickie’s & Pete’s shrimp and lobster, and was a devoted Elvis fan. She also loved traveling with her family, especially on trips to Disney World and Hawaii. She loved to cruise, go out to eat with her family, go shopping, and spend time together making memories. Her twin Mae and her loved to play tennis and joined many bowling teams together. Their competitive nature was definitely passed down to their children and grandchildren.

Doris was an amazing mom who loved her children, grandchildren, great‑grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Her family meant everything to her. She will be truly missed by all who loved her.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 1-3 PM at the Falco, Caruso & Leonard Camden Funeral Home, 3425 River Road, where a Memorial Service will be held at 3 PM.
