Obituary of Michael Gallagher

Michael Gallagher, age 77 of Pennsauken, passed away on June 23, 2026 at Samaritan Hospice in Mount Holly.  He was born on November 10, 1948 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Edward and Helen (nee McCready) Gallagher.

Beloved husband of 50 years to Rita V. (nee Brady); Devoted father of Kerry Rocks (James A. III) and the late Michael Gallagher; Cherished grandfather of Anna and Molly Rocks; Dear brother of Edward (Paula), Joseph (late Nancy), Thomas (Marie), William (Mary), Neil (Debbie), Marielena "Sue", John (Anne Marie), Eileen Soltysik (Walt) and Robert (Lori) Gallagher.  He is also survived by his sister in law Eileen Hefterich, brother in law Rick Hefterich as well as many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

Prior to his retirement, Michael was employed for over 45 years with Acme Markets throughout the South Jersey and Philadelphia region, retiring as a manager.  He later served for several years as a crossing guard at St. Cecilia's Church in Pennsauken.  He was an avid fisherman, casting his line throughout the US, Canada and even Belize.  Michael was a huge Philadelphia sports fan, and also enjoyed his Friday Night poker and pool games or playing darts.  

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation on Tuesday, June 30 from 8:30 to 10:30 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM at the Church of Mary, Queen of All Saints, 4801 Camden Avenue in Pennsauken.  Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Pennsauken.
