Today we say goodbye to a truly great man.
Mr. Gennetta was more than my childhood friend's father—he was someone I loved and respected deeply. He always looked out for me, protected us, and made sure we were safe. Some of my greatest childhood memories were made under the family porch at our "Wild Cat Club," where we spent countless hours laughing, playing, and just being kids. He always kept a watchful eye on us, making sure we had everything we needed to have fun while staying safe.
As I grew older, that never changed. He continued to guide me in the right direction with his wisdom, kindness, and quiet strength. He was an incredible father to his own children, but he also had a way of making other kids feel like they belonged. Many of us wished he was our father too because that's just the kind of man he was.
Thank you for every lesson, every word of encouragement, and every act of kindness. You made a lasting impact on so many lives, mostly mine.
I will forever love you, Mr.Genneta. You earned your eternal peace. Rest easy—you will never be forgotten.
