It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Antonio D. Gennetta, affectionately known to family, friends, and colleagues as Anthony, or Uncle Tony who passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on July 15, 2026.

Born in Camden, New Jersey, on March 22, Antonio lived a life defined by honor, courage, service, and an unwavering devotion to his family and community.

Antonio proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Combat Engineer for four years. Following his military service, he worked as a ship rigger at the Camden City Shipyard, where he helped build the USS Kitty Hawk—a contribution to our nation's history that he carried with great pride. He then worked as a bouncer at the Latin Casino before dedicating the next 31 years of his life to the citizens of Camden as a Camden City police officer and homicide detective. Throughout his distinguished career, he earned the respect and admiration of countless fellow officers and members of the community. To those who had the privilege of serving alongside him, he was more than a police officer—he was a legend. His integrity, courage, and commitment to protecting others left an enduring mark that will never be forgotten.

As remarkable as his career was, Dad's greatest accomplishment was the life he built with his family. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Carrol, and a loving father to Danielle, Nicole, Tony, and Morgan. No matter how demanding his career became, he always made time for his family. He believed that being present mattered, and his children always knew they were loved. He taught by example, instilling the values of honesty, loyalty, hard work, respect, and doing what was right even when it wasn't easy.

Nothing brought Antonio greater joy than being "Deeda" to his beloved grandchildren, Cade, Ethan, Charlie, Atticus, Seth, and Everly Rose. He treasured every moment spent with them, whether sharing stories, celebrating milestones, or simply enjoying being together. They were one of the greatest blessings of his life, and the love he had for them knew no bounds.

Away from work, Antonio enjoyed watching football and hockey, spending time with family and friends, and socializing with those around him. He had a way of making people feel welcome, whether through conversation, laughter, or sharing stories from a lifetime of experiences. His strength was matched by his kindness, and his sense of humor created memories that those who knew him will cherish forever.

Antonio was predeceased by his beloved father, Anthony; his beloved mother, Grace; his beloved brothers, Michael and Joseph; and his beloved sister, Amelia. He is survived by his loving wife, Carrol; his children, Danielle, Nicole, Tony, and Morgan; his cherished grandchildren, Cade, Ethan, Charlie, Atticus, Seth, and Everly Rose; his beloved nieces and nephews; along with extended family, lifelong friends, former colleagues, and countless members of the Camden community whose lives were made better because they knew him.

Antonio's legacy reaches far beyond the badge he wore. He will be remembered as a man of unwavering character, immense courage, deep compassion, and quiet humility. He dedicated his life to serving his country, protecting his community, and loving his family with all his heart.

Although our hearts are broken, we take comfort in knowing that Antonio's legacy will live on in the lives he touched, the family he cherished, and the example he set for future generations.

To the people of Camden, he was a respected police officer. To those who served beside him, he was a legend. To his family, he was simply Dad, Husband, and Deeda—and those were the titles he treasured most.

He served with honor. He led with courage. He loved without limits.

Antonio D. Gennetta will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved. May he rest in eternal peace.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Antonio's life and honor his remarkable legacy.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation & Funeral on Thursday, July 23, from 5:30-8 PM and Friday, July 24, from 10-11 AM at the Falco, Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM. Following the service, Antonio will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery, 2398 Marlton Pike West, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002.
