Obituary of Jorge A. Martinez

Jorge Martinez-Yanes, of Woodbury, New Jersey, passed away suddenly on July 21, 2026.

He was 54 years old. Born on June 28, 1972, in Jutiapa, Guatemala, Jorge came to the United States as a young man. He built his life here through hard work and determination – qualities that defined him at every stage. He began his early years in this country working at the Colonial Diner, later worked at the Gloucester Port, and went on to a long and dedicated career with Lynmar Builders. Those who knew him remember him above all as a hard-working man who gave everything to provide for the people he loved.

Away from work, Jorge found joy in the simple things. He loved time spent outdoors – whether crabbing or fishing, falling asleep on his hammock, family barbecues and attending rodeos. Above all, Jorge cherished his family and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them, often traveling near and far to be together.

Jorge is survived by his wife Christina and his daughters Gabriela (Benjamin) and Ashlee (Drew). He is also survived by his brothers Reginaldo (Marleny), Miguel (Maritza), and his special nephews Danilo, Erick and Joseph. Along with several other nieces and nephews. In Guatemala he leaves behind his beloved mother, Balvina, and siblings, Juan (Miria), Pablo (Melida), Daniel (Marta), and Fedilina (Ever). Following services in the US, he will return to Guatemala, where he will eternally rest along side his father, Luciano, and sisters, Paula (Néctali) and Dominga.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation on Friday, July 31, 2026 from 5-8 PM at the Falco, Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 North Browning Road, where a Funeral Service will be held at 8 PM. Final disposition will take place at a later date in Guatemala.

Jorge Martínez-Yanes de Woodbury, New Jersey, falleció repentinamente el 21 de julio del 2026. Tenía 54 años.

Nacido el 28 de junio de 1972 en Jutiapa, Guatemala, Jorge vino a los Estados Unidos como hombre joven. Él construyó su vida aquí mediante el trabajo duro y la determinación, cualidades que lo definieron en cada etapa. Sus primeros años en este país los pasó trabajando en el Colonial Diner, más tarde trabajó en el puerto de Gloucester y posteriormente desarrolló una larga y dedicada trayectoria profesional en Lynmar Builders. Quienes lo conocieron lo recuerdan, ante todo, como un hombre trabajador que lo daba todo por mantener a sus seres queridos.

Fuera del trabajo, Jorge encontraba alegría en las cosas sencillas. Le encantaba pasar tiempo al aire libre, ya fuera pescando o capturando cangrejos, durmiendo en su hamaca, disfrutando de barbacoas familiares o asistiendo a rodeos. Por encima de todo, Jorge adoraba a su familia y valoraba cada oportunidad de estar con ellos, recorriendo hasta largas distancias para reunirse.

A Jorge le sobreviven su esposa Christina y sus hijas Gabriela (Benjamin) y Ashlee (Drew). También le sobreviven sus hermanos Reginaldo (Marleny) y Miguel (Maritza), así como sus sobrinos especiales Danilo, Erick y Joseph. Junto con varios sobrinos y sobrinas. En Guatemala deja a su amada madre, Balvina, y a sus hermanos: Juan (Miria), Pablo (Melida), Daniel (Marta) y Fedelina (Ever). Tras los servicios funerarios en los Estados Unidos, sus restos serán trasladados a Guatemala, donde descansarán eternamente junto a su padre, Luciano, y sus hermanas, Paula (Nectali) y Dominga.

Se invita a familiares y amigos al velatorio que tendrá lugar el viernes 31 de julio de 2026, de 5 a 8pm en la funeraria Falco Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken (6600 North Browning Road), donde se celebrará un servicio funerario a las 8pm. La disposición final se llevará a cabo posteriormente en Guatemala.
