Obituary of Carol D. Girardi

Carol Girardi (nee Chwastyk), of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026 at the age of 75 surrounded by the love of her family. Born on November 6, 1950, she was the beloved daughter of the late Chester “Larry” and Veronica Chwastyk.

For fifty-one years, Carol was the devoted wife of Joseph J. Girardi. She was a proud and loving mother to her three daughters: Alisa Laurick (John), Amanda Rosario (Will), and Andrea Hilt (Michael). Being a grandmother was a highlight of her life, never missing an opportunity to be there at sporting events, special occasions or just a casual visit.  She was an adoring grandmother to Joseph, John, Brandon, Brianna, Brody, Jackson, Mason, and Cameron, who brought her immeasurable joy. Carol is also survived by her loving sisters, her twin - Camille Yeager (late Richard) and Nancy Montvydas (late Thomas).

Carol lived a full and vibrant life, touching the hearts of everyone who knew her. She was an involved parent at the girl’s schools as a dedicated PTA member serving on many committees. As a very successful plus-size model, Carol’s beautiful face was seen in fashion shows, print ads and on QVC. Her modeling career and passion for fashion led her to be the proud owner of Verenique Plus Size Boutique. Through her work, she inspired self-confidence and helped countless women embrace their beauty.

Above all else, Carol cherished her family. There was nothing she loved more than spending time with her children and grandchildren, creating memories that will be treasured forever. She had a gift for bringing people together and was known for hosting unforgettable gatherings. Whether it was a holiday, birthday, or simply an excuse to celebrate, Carol knew how to throw one heck of a party, filling every room with laughter, love, and lasting memories.

Carol will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, infectious spirit, and unwavering love for those around her. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored, the friendships she nurtured, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness and joyful heart.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Monday, August 10, 2026 from 8:30-10:30 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM at the Church of St. Stephen, 6300 Browning Road in Pennsauken.  Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carol’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 399 Market Street Suite 250 Philadelphia, PA 19106.
