Obituary of Gloria G. DiStefano

Gloria G. DiStefano (nee Scattergood), age 98 of Pennsauken, passed away peacefully at her home on August 16, 2026.  She was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 7, 1928 to the late Joseph and Marjorie (nee Heaven) Scattergood.

Beloved wife of 70 years to the late Wayne R. DiStefano; Devoted mother of Alexia M. (William J.) Matta, Daria (Robert H.) Cattanea, Andrea (Dirk E.) Gardner (Howell), and the late Mark DiStefano; Loving grandmother of Lee N. and Kyle A. Matta, Alexandrea Pizza, Genevieve and Christian Cattanea, Brandan Howell, Bridgot Gibson, Kirsten Howell, Erika Ficquette and Jason Gardner, great grandmother of Kayley, Keaton, Cody, Brody, Brooklyn, Seraphina, Thomas, Aniella, Bennett, Sebastian, Teddy, Sienna, Callie, Gray, Dane Reef, Vaeya, Noah, Christopher and Lukas, and great great grandmother of Laney Mae; Dear sister of the late William Scattergood, Joseph A. Scattergood and Marjorie Whitaker.

Gloria was a lifelong parishioner at St. Stephen’s Church in Pennsauken, where she also taught CCD for many years.  She cherished her family, loved to paint and in her younger years enjoyed bowling.  She was also talented in various needlepoints, whether quilting, sewing or crocheting.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Thursday, August 27 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM at the Church of St. Stephen, 6300 Browning Road in Pennsauken.  Interment will follow at Park View Cemetery at Kirby’s Mill in Medford, NJ.
