Obituary of Yolanda A. Velez

Yolanda A. Velez (nee Rodriguez), age 81 formerly of Gloucester City, passed away on August 24, 2026 at Bishop McCarthy Center in Vineland.  She was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico on April 16, 1945.

Beloved wife of the late Hector Velez; Devoted mother of Miguel and Ricardo Rivera; Dear sister of Aida Ackley (Denny), Mike Rodriguez, Wilfredo Rodriguez, Gloria Rodriguez (Roberto), Hipolito Rodriguez and the late Ozzie Rodriguez; Loving grandmother of 6 and great grandmother of 4.  She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Prior to her retirement, Yolanda worked for the Campbell Soup company and then for the US Army as a federal government secretary.  In her younger days, she was an avid bowler at Camden Lanes.   She enjoyed dancing (especially merengue) and also liked drawing, crafting and working on crossword puzzles.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Saturday, August 29, 2026 from 9 to 11 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
