Obituary of Tyrone R. Taylor

Dr. Tyrone R. Taylor, age 80 years of Williamstown, formerly of Camden, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026.

Devoted father of Tyrone Danford (Nurah), Alesha Taylor, and Tyrone R. Taylor, Jr. (Lavinia).  Loving grandfather of Haidar Danford, Amirah Danford, Qahhar Danford, Charles Taylor, Nya Taylor, and Tyrone R. Taylor, III and great grandfather of Amiri Danford, Kaelani Taylor, and Ryan Taylor.  Dear brother of Terence Taylor and the late Albert Ways, Merle Ways, and Willette Herbin.  Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Prior to retirement, Tyrone was employed as the Director of Public Safety at Rowan University for over 30 years.  He was a United States Marine Corp Veteran in the Vietnam War. Tyrone was a strong advocate for education and took great pride in earning his doctorate degree, an accomplishment that reflected his dedication to learning and personal growth.  He was an avid runner and former boxer who enjoyed staying active and challenging himself. Tyrone also had a love for archery and appreciated the time spent practicing and enjoying the outdoors. He will be remembered for his active spirit and the interests that brought him joy throughout his life. 

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, from 9-11 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM.  Interment will follow at the Camden County Veterans Cemetery in Camden.
