Obituary of Olga Vazquez

Olga Vazquez born Olga Rivera Delgado in Cidra, PR on 5/9/28 completed her calling on this earth on 7/28/16. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose (Toῆo), her son, Heriberto (Eddie), her grandson Marco Antonio, her great granddaughter Aliyah, her parents, Constancia and Alfonso and her brothers, Jesus, Jose and Francisco. She continued her struggle with illness after the death of her beloved Toῆo for only one reason, her children, Enid Rul-lan (Carlos), Tony Vazquez (Elva), Angelo Vazquez, Judy Concepcion, Magda Nieves (Willie), Carlos Vazquez (Claribel), Nidia Rivas (Rodney), Becky Velez (Felix). She had so much love in her heart that it wasn't enough, she added another, Roy Crossett Jr. She was blessed with the joy of being a part of the life of her 19 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She loved babies and always held them close to her heart. The rest of her great grand babies she will watch over from above. She loved to sew. She was a talented seamstress and an excellent cook, just ask her neighbors. She prayed as she cooked, 'God bless this food so it may be enough for those who are here and those who come near'. No one ever went hungry in her home. Her home was a sanctuary for all who needed shelter, related or not. Anyone who entered the shelter felt they belonged. In her later years she became an avid collector of dolls. She loved watching her Spanish novelas, giving advice to the actors as she watched. She enjoyed many things but only had one true passion, her family. She was devoted to the blessed mother, the rosary was her favorite prayer. As children we resisted having to pray each evening, but she was stronger than us. Her belief that a family that prays together stays together was a belief she drilled in our brains. Thank you, our beautiful mother. We are the Vazquez clan, a family who will always pray together and stay together. The family will welcome visitors on Tuesday, August 2 from 6-8 PM and Wednesday, August 3 from 8:15- 9:15 AM at Falco Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 Am at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 642 Market St. in Camden. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
