Obituary of Joseph B. Vogdes

Joseph B. Vogdes, age 67 years, of Merchantville, passed away suddenly on July 11, 2018.  Beloved husband of Kathleen A. (nee Olsen).  Devoted father of Katie O’Neill (Brian), Allison Schmalbach (Bryan), Jesse Vogdes (Ashley) and the late Kelly.  Loving grandfather of Emma, Christian, Vivienne, Molly, Smith, Brendan and Reese.  Dear brother of Timothy Vogdes (Nancy), Kathleen Povernick (the late John), Michael Vogdes (Terry), Nancy Parisi (Sal) and Danny Vogdes (Kathy).  Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters in law, Karen and Tom Naifeh, Jimmy and Kathy Olsen, Donna and the late Joe Balzano, Timmy and Laurant Olsen, Steven and Kim Olsen, Mary Pat Doto, Harold Olsen and Glenn and Maria Olsen.

Joe worked as a builder for many years and could be found on most Sunday’s cooking dinner for his family.  He enjoyed bocce, golfing, fishing, skiing and traveling.  Joe also loved Malvern retreats with his son, bike rides to the shore and most of all he cherished his time spent with family and his grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation on Sunday from 5-8 PM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Rd.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM at the Church of St. Peter, 43 W.
