Obituary of Lucia MacPherson

Lucia “Lucy” MacPherson (nee Zippilli) age 92 years of Mt. Laurel, formerly of Pennsauken, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2023.

Beloved wife of the late Robert A. MacPherson, Sr.  Devoted mother of Joseph S. MacPherson, Robert A. MacPherson, Jr. (Kim Shimer), Alison G. Perry (Jeffrey) and Andrea R. MacPherson (Dean Cavanaugh).  Loving grandmother of Jordan Brennan (Nicholas), Ian MacPherson, Spencer Perry (Sean Munyan), Abigail MacPherson, Dean Cavanaugh, Jr., and Savannah Young.  Dear sister of the late Assunta, Angeline, Joseph, Dominic “Bob”, John, Natalie, Carmine, Vincent, Gabriel, Anna, and Mary.  Also survived by sisters in law, Alice Crockford (Bill), Margaret "Peg" Lippincott, and Jean MacPherson, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Lucy worked for many years as an administrative assistant at several local companies, including Campbell Soup and Computer Sciences Corporation, before transitioning to her role as a full-time stay-at-home mom. 

Lucy was an active member of the Pennsauken Chapter of AARP, where she was the former President and activities director.  She was also a member of the Healthy Bones exercise club.  Lucy loved enjoying sunny Summer days at the Holiday Village Community Pool, where she met many friends and would work on her beautiful tan.  Lucy enjoyed crossword puzzles, quilting, sewing, and used her sewing skills with Project Linus, an organization that makes blankets for sick children.  Most of all, Lucy cherished the time spent with her family, especially her siblings and grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 10-11 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM.  Interment will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park in Cinnaminson.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Elwyn Foundation, 111 Elwyn Road, Elwyn, PA 19063 OR Alzheimer’s Association, 399 Market St #250, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
