Obituary of Theresa H. Mattera
Theresa "Tery" Mattera (nee Schneider) age 59 years of Pennsauken, passed away on January 6, 2024.
Beloved wife of Jack Mattera. Devoted mother of Caitlin and Elizabeth Mattera. Dear sister of Robert Schneider (the late Mary), Stephen Schneider (Donna), Donna Lawall (the late Harry) and Matthew Schneider (Michelle). Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Tery was a journalist for the Gloucester County times and the winner of a NJ Press Associates award for journalism. She then worked for many years as the school secretary at St. Stephen's School in Pennsauken. After the school closed, Tery worked at Harry J. Lawall & Son in their human resources department before retiring. She was a member of the Merchantville Junior Women's Club and was active at St. Stephen's School in all activities. Tery loved to be involved at the school and cherished her time spent with her daughters and the other students. In her spare time, she enjoyed photography. Tery will be missed by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 6-8 PM and Thursday, January 11, 2024 from 9:30-10:30 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Road. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Church of St. Stephen, 6300 Browning Road in Pennsauken. Interment will follow at Jesus Bread of Life Cemetery in Mt. Laurel. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 399 Market Street, Suite 250, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
