The Lofland family knew Al and the family through the business of towing broken trucks for many years, then personally through the years. From way back to the Riverside shop to up in Delran. He and his wife would come to Wayne and Lynn`s Christmas parties over the years, he would always break my balls for fun :). We will miss him. Wayne, Dave, Cheryl and the late George and Anna Lofland

The King that he was, and still will always be, more than a last name.
I have known for Al for ~48 years and he leaves a void in my life. There was no better friend to me than Al.... He taught me many things about the towing business that made me a better customer to him as well as other towing Companies. He was a friend that I could always share my most intimate feelings with and felt comfortable to talk to him about whatever subject. When he had a different opinion on a subject, he shared with me a different perspective, delivered in a way only Al could do. When medical situations needed someone to talk to, he was there and diluted the concerns. When I was in the area, he divided the water to visit. I know he had many friends and family that he loved. He always made me feel like I was the most important friend he had. I was glad to share the army of friends and family.
In closing when the conversation came to an end, He said I love you brother, when we greeted or parted ways we always hugged each other...... I love you Al, still in my memories and we will visit again. I will not travel the NJ Turnpike without tears in my eyes from Joy of my friendship and memories of him towing me off the turnpike when I needed help....and of course when my car broke down, he lent me his Tahoe to continue my vacation...oh and fixed my car too...who would do that? Only Al in my life.

Al was a friendly and outgoing person. The last time I saw him was at my sister in law Pat Abbot’s 70th Birthday Party last August. Marylou and Al raised a great group of young adults who made their parents very proud. I remember in my thirties I had a car accident . The lot holding it was costing a fortune ..,,Al drove to the lot hitched up my car and stored it at no cost to me. Prayers to the family and Andrew, I’m sure your Dad would want you to rock that wedding ☘️☘️

Al was a dear friend of my father Darry W Stuart with lots of memories, I can’t tell you how many great stories my father told me about Al, his family and Helmrick Towing. As a young boy Darry J Stuart I was always excited to see all the tow trucks and from what a remember the Holmes wrecker and spending time at the garage. I’m truly sorry for your loss.
