Carmen Serrano

Obituary of Carmen Serrano

Carmen Serrano, age 85 of Pennsauken, left us on Good Friday, April 14, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Camden. Carmen was born on March 2, 1932 in Camuy, Puerto Rico to the late Mercedes and Agapito Serrano. She was married on May 29, 1947 to Gregorio Serrano; a marriage that lasted 70 years – til death did they part. Carmen was a devoted wife and loving mother to Raul (Maria), Edgar (Viviana), Diane (Tony) Diaz, Steven (Mayra), Albert (Aida) and the late Gregory (Minerva). Her pure joy came from being a wife and mother, as well as grandmother to 20 and great grandmother to 20 more. She is also survived by siblings Maria Cruz, Rafael and Anselmo Serrano. Only a heart of her magnitude could love so many unconditionally. She touched so many lives that as she left us, it was heard said "An angel has ascended". Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM and Thursday from 9 to 10 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 North Browning Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at the Church of Mary, Queen of All Saints, 4801 Camden Avenue in Pennsauken. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
