Obituary of Carmel Naples

Carmel M. Naples, age 94 years of Pennsauken, passed away on September 2, 2017. She was the devoted daughter of the late Dominic and Mary (nee Mignogna) Naples. She was born in Landisville N.J. where she attended elementary school and graduated in 1941 from Woodrow Wilson High School in Camden. She retired from General Motors approx. 40 years ago where she worked as a secretary and then later in Customer Service in the Frigidaire Division. Carmel was an active member of St. Peter's RC Church in Merchantville for the last 56 years, she also served as a past officer for UNICO National, Pennsauken Chapter and the Sons of Italy Lodge #2229 in Medford.

Left to cherish her memories, she is survived by her cousins Rita D.Vogt of Mt. Laurel; Anna Lucia Dawson (Garry) of Philadelphia, PA., Rosemary Mignogna of Mt. Laurel, Michael S. Mignogna of Medford, Gloria Jean Vasta (Robert) of Woodbridge, VA, Marlene Naples Munson (Don) and Carmel Naples Ruberti (Angelo) and Sr. Lena Mignogna of the Filipini Order, Morristown. Also survived by many loving cousins, great cousins, great, great cousins and numerous godchildren. Her most beloved and closest relative was her Aunt "Phyl" Mignogna, with whom she shared her home and who predeceased her in 2016. In earlier years, she enjoyed traveling extensively with her Aunt Phyl and friends, spending summers vacationing at the Jersey shore with family and enjoying dinners at her favorite restaurant, Café Aldo Lamberti's.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Saturday from 8:30-9:30 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Rd. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM at the Church of St. Peter, 43 W. Maple Ave in Merchantville. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carmel's name to St. John of God, 1145 Delsea Dr., Westville, N.J.
