Marianne Rickert

Obituary of Marianne Rickert

Marianne Gould Rickert entered eternal rest and peace on Friday, December 22, 2017 surrounded by her family after a short illness.

She was born on January 19, 1947 to the late Robert and Marion Gould in Rutland, Vermont. She spent the majority of her life in New Jersey and was a resident of Pennsauken at the time of her passing. She graduated from Rancocas Valley Regional High School in 1965. She was also predeceased by her brother, the late Robert Gould Jr.

Marianne had 2 children from her first marriage, Penny Lynn Wheeler (Cantagallo) and Cristi L. (Mamdouh) Abdelrhman (née Cantagallo). She enjoyed her family very much including her son-in-law John Wheeler and her granddaughter Katelin Cantagallo, daughter of Cristi.

In 1985, she married John W. Rickert, her husband of over 32-years and she gained a new son through marriage, John W. Rickert Jr and his wife Carol, along with grandchildren Timothy and William Rickert.

Marianne was an administrative assistant in her occupational positions, but she will always be remembered for being a voracious reader of novels, magazines, and human interest stories. She loved to root for the underdog and she could never resist a feel-good story.

Marianne loved being with her family, her friends and her numerous pets. She enjoyed her summers at the pool with her friends and her time at the Jersey shore. She enjoyed people watching and shopping on the Boardwalk. She attended many shows and events with her family. She had many annual traditional family events especially at Penny & John's household and she looked forward to each one of them. She had a special bond with her granddaughter Katelin, and she will always be watching over her. She took many trips with her husband John and they enjoyed their time together.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She always made sure to take care of each one of them in her own special way.

Marianne always had a special place in her heart for her homeland of Vermont and she will return there for final resting place.
