My Dear Elaine, I would have never thought to write a post about you in this way. You and I go back to when I was 16 and you were 20. We met while attending HopeWorks N Camden. Your son Ben was about 3 or 4 years old. We hung out every day, during school and after. You were like a big sister to me then, as you are to me now. You taught me so much, and I thank you for that. It is sad that as we get older sometimes we drift apart, not because we don't speak, but because we are at a different point in our lives. The one thing I must say, no matter what we have done in our life, we always picked up where we left off. Just 2 weeks ago we bumped into each other and was able to catch up in a brief convo. You mentioned that we should have dinner together and I agree. It saddens me that we couldn't set that dinner date. You were so full of life, and always with a smile on your face. While I am sitting at my desk, I am remembering all of the fun times we had, and the trouble we would get into. The parties you have invited me to at your parents home.
Elaine, you have gained your wings and now you are together with your brother BJ. I know that you guys must be so happy to be together again. As I write this it is hard to keep my tears in. R.I.P Elaine, you will forever be remembered. Sending prayers out to your family in this time of grievance.
