Obituary of Clifford Martin
Clifford “Cliff” W. Martin of Cherry Hill, NJ, formerly of Erie, PA passed away suddenly on April 4, 2018 at the age of 67. Beloved husband of Marie (Boorman); Devoted father of Erica (Mark) Odenheimer and Becca (Bryan) Boucher; Loving Poppa of Madison Odenheimer; Dear brother of Bonnie (Pete) White, Dottie (David) Powers, James W. Martin (Cheryl) and the late Richard W. Martin; Predeceased by his parents Lloyd Wesley & Violet Martin; Also survived by many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Cliff was a 1969 graduate of Strong Vincent High School in Erie, Pennsylvania and a 1973 graduate of Washington & Jefferson College in Washington, PA where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics. He also was a proud fraternity brother of Kappa Sigma. He earned his Master’s Degree from The Wharton School. Cliff worked for the General Accounting Office (GAO) for nineteen years, spending some time living abroad in Germany. He earned his CPA in 1995 and then worked as an internal auditor with Morgan, Lewis, & Bockius Law Firm. Just prior to retirement, he worked for the Presbyterian Board of Pensions in Philadelphia. After his retirement in 2016, he began working part-time for Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children of Atlantic and Cape May Counties managing their finances. Cliff was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying activities such as running, biking, golfing, and ocean kayaking. He had raced in the Broad Street Run and Multiple Sclerosis (MS) 150 City-to-Shore bike ride many times. He enjoyed doing Polar Bear Plunges and visiting craft breweries across the country and overseas. He was a man who always challenged himself physically and intellectually. Cliff was an extraordinary and loving person and was cherished by all who knew him. He put everyone else before himself and was the first to help his friends and extended family. He was one of a kind and will truly be missed by those fortunate enough to have known him. All of his family and friends will be at a loss without him.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM and Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Falco-Caruso & Leonard Funeral Home, 6600 Browning RD in Pennsauken. Please also join the family for the Funeral Service which will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Falco-Caruso & Leonard Funeral Home. At the request of the family, final disposition will be private.
