Amorette in Presley posted a condolence

Ms. pizzuro, just learned of your passing today and my heart skipped a beat. I was never interested in playing an instrument but when I was able to sit and talk to you confidentially about anything going on I then realized if I played an instrument I would get to be in your presence more often I'd love staying after school to practice but most of those practices turned into beautiful conversations about life and what was to come. You will be forever etched in my heart for you truly did leave a lasting impression on me until we meet again in eternity. Love and condolences her family Amorette (Daniels) Presley vets class of 1987

Like many of her students will attest, Mrs. Pizzurro was the most influential teacher I have ever had. Ask anyone who knew me, I lived in the band room, it was a safe place for me from 1990-1993. My home life was often unpredictable, with parents who fell victim to the drug and alcohol crisis in the urban neighborhoods of the early 90's. Mrs. Pizzurro made sure I had a winter coat every year, television, food, practice instruments, but most of all she gave me direction and purpose. She came to school early and left late to be there for her students. She would often drive her students home to ensure their safety in a one of the most crime ridden cities in the country. She was always there, checking on me, even after I left Vets and went to middle school and high school. I am often reminded of Mrs. Pizzurro when I see Bea Author's character on the Golden Girls. Like Dorothy, Mrs Pizzurro had a razor sharp wit, a no nonsense demeanor and an abundant love for her students. That balance of discipline and love has undoubtedly been a major part of my life, and I am sure for many of her other students.
Always in my heart and memories.

I'm so sorry for your loss. What has given many much comfort and hope is what is said at John 11:25. "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me,even though he dies, will come to life."May that give you and your family some comfort as well.

Palma was the young, beautiful, happy, dark haired girl in the black mantilla in the pew next to me at Saint Joe's. Palma was the friendly hostess in the restaurant at the Moorestown Mall. Palma was the check out clerk at the Shop-Rite. Palma was the music major at Glassboro State. Palma was the thoughtful, caring girl who caused me to become a teacher. Palma was the best date at the romantic Philly restaurant, the great movie and the Philly play. Palma was the fun partner trying to bowl. Palma was the girl coming down the stairs to my waiting hand in her living room and sitting next to me in my car in front of her home on Stevens Street. Palma was the voice on the phone late at night or early in the morning. Palma was the girl I never forgot - EVER. Palma was the girl I loved. I am so sorry for Palma's passing. Palma's final resting at Calvary is at least the thought she is next to her sister Mary. I am so sorry for your loss. Stewart

Mrs. Pizzurro was a huge part of my middle school life. Playing the flute in the band every year for the four years I was at Vets. Forty years later, I only have fond, respectful memories of her and the time she spent teaching us. Please accept my sincere condolences to her family. She was a special lady.
