Obituary of James J. Rouse

James J. Rouse, age 87 years of Pennsauken, passed away on June 11, 2018 at his son’s residence in Mansfield, PA. 

Beloved husband of the late Elinor (nee Aiken).  Devoted father of Constance Olive (Ron), Catherine Visconti (Rob), Diane Lomanno (Gary), James F. Rouse (Barbara) and Beth Anne Durst (Eric).  Loving grandfather of 10.  Dear brother of Daniel Rouse (Susan).  Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Prior to retirement, James was a United States Marine for 22 years, serving during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.  Even though he retired after many years of service to his country, James would always say “once a Marine, always a Marine.”  After retirement, he went on to work for Ford in their warehouse in Pennsauken for many years and then drove a school bus for the Pennsauken Schools.  James was also involved with the Pennsauken High School Marching Band Booster Association and a Eucharistic Minister at St. Cecilia Church.

Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Wednesday, June 20th, 2018, from 8:30-10:30 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Rd.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM at Mary, Queen of Saints Parish, Church of St. Cecilia, 4824 Camden Ave in Pennsauken.  Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
