I was so fortunate to have deda as my grandfather. I will never forget deda teaching me how to cast. We were sitting on my dads docked boat when he told me what to do but it was no where near as easy as he made it sound. My first cast was so bad that it went all the way to my right side instead of right in front of me and I ended up hooking another docked boat. For the next half hour he spent all his time untangling my line and letting me practice with his rod. Not only was deda a fisherman but he also loved movies. Just the other day I tried to re watch the movie blazing saddles (one of dedas favorite) and it was not the same without his contagious laugh. My grandfather was the most straight up loving guy you could ever meet. If I could be half the man he was I would consider my life successful. I will always love Deda

I met Andy when we were five years old and entered kindergarten together at Hinchman school. We have been friends for 72 years. In high school, Andy bought a 1939 Buick ( he called it the tank). We rode around in that car all the way through high school. I was a groomsman in his wedding to Mary Jane. Andy will be sorely missed. Farewell my friend, and Godspeed.

Mary Jane and Andy have been my dearest friends for over fifty years. We have shared our ups and downs through the years and one thing I can say about Andy is that he was a rock of strength and support to all who knew him. He was wise and told you like it was. A bear of a guy with the best laugh and hugs ever. One thing that I remember, before our first children were born was out trip to Wildwood. The sun was hot, the sand was hot and there was no air conditioning where we stayed...my fault. But the song The Lion Sleeps Tonight just came out and the guys, Andy and Jack sang it all the way to the beach in the car as loud as can be and continuously when ever they wanted to get on our nerves...which was ALL the time! I can’t believe they still play it on the radio! A chuckle from the guys in heaven! I will miss his love and caring for my family as well since Andy was like a substitute dad when their dad Jack was killed. There aren’t enough words to say about one of the best men to have walked this earth. We were blessed to know him. If you are listening, thank you Andy from the bottom of my heart. You will be sorely missed.

I was blessed with the best grandfather in the world and I feel like the luckiest granddaugher! I never have met anyone smarter than my Deda. If you had a question about anything he would be the one to know the answer. I will never forget how he showed me how to crab when I was 4 or 5. This now is one of my favorite hobbies today that I will always carry with me. He always made sure to have my favorite mint chocolate chip ice cream whenever I would visit. I always looked up to Memom’s and Dedas relationship and love for one another. He loved memom so much! I know this because he always made sure she had some dark chocolate pretzels or candy in one of her cabinets at home. I’m so sad that Deda is no longer with us, but the memories will never fade. He is in a better place now and is our guardian angel watching over all of us.

I have So many memories of Uncle Andy in the Pennsauken and Cherry Hill homes.. Family cook outs and family get together we’re always fun. As the years progressed I have memories of both Him and Aunt Mary Jane in Cape May. I loved how both families would wind up down there at the same time. Uncle Andy was my dads fishing partner in crime. I remember the one time they went over to Stone Harbor and got stuck in high tides coming in!! They just kept fishing with no thought to what was happening around them. I can close my eyes and see everything so clearly. I sure hope there’s better fishing in heaven ❤️

Dear Deda,
I am so grateful to have you as my grandfather, the one-and-only Deda! We got to share many memories together with Memom that we will cherish forever. I could never thank you enough for how much you have done for me to help me grow as a student, professional, and as a man. I will miss your ingenuity, humor, integrity, no-nonsense attitude, and your compassion for all of us that you consider family and friends. Now you can fish in peace at the big pond in the sky.
Love,
Sean

Mary Jane and family, Jack and I have so many fond memories of times spent together when we had our little “dinner “club and we took turns at each others houses with claire and Jim cooking and cocktailing and laughing. I would go out side and look in your huge picture window to see if it looked like we were having a good time!!
Who are we going to talk politics with??

I’ll never forget your sense of humor and the many family gatherings we spent together...particularly the New Years dinners and Easter egg hunts. I hope that you and my Mom are resting peacefully at a great fishing spot.
Aunt MaryJane, MaryBeth, Jeff and your families, may you take some comfort in knowing how much Uncle Andy was loved by my family. Love you all.
