Obituary of James J. O'Brien

James J. O’Brien “Jim”, age 81 years of Pennsauken, formerly of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2019.  Beloved husband of Rosemarie C. (nee Umile) for 57 years.  Devoted father of Rosemarie Loughlin (Kevin), James J. O’Brien Jr. (Jennifer) and Maureen O’Brien-Wagner (David).  Loving poppop of Emily, Kyle, Abby, Jenna, Megan, Kathleen, Erin, Molly, Matthew and Maggie.  Dear brother of the late Peggy Courchain, Rosemary Schumacher, Thomas O’Brien, Kathleen Donaher, Nancy Buckley and Joseph O’Brien.  Also survived by sisters in law, Bernadette O’Brien and Trudy Cottler as well as many loving niece and nephews.

Jim was a proud graduate of North Catholic High School class of 56.  Prior to retirement in 2008, he was the owner/operator of Jim O’Brien Decorations for 20 years.  Jim liked playing pinochle, was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, liked to travel and enjoyed spending time on the beach.  He loved 50’s Doo-Wop music, but most of all Jim was present for all of his grandkids activities and never missed a milestone or achievement.
