Obituary of Maria E. Martinez
Maria E. Martinez (nee Afanador) age 94 years of Merchantville, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2019 at Cooper Hospital in Camden.
Beloved wife of the late Francisco. Devoted mother of Antonia Roman, Francisco Martinez, Doris Martinez, Antonia Lopez, Jose Martinez, Betty Martinez, Blanca Gonzalez, Rafaela Hilerio, David Martinez, Maria Millan, Vivian Nieves and the late Ernesto Martinez. Loving grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother of many. Dear sister of Mario Afanador. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Maria worked for many years as a talented seamstress. She loved to cook, take care of her grandchildren and everyone was welcome at her home. She always made sure to cook just a bit more than needed in case there were extra mouths to feed. Maria was a prayer warrior and everything was done in faith. She had a happy disposition and will be missed by all who knew her.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Thursday from 6-8 PM, where a Funeral Service will be held at 8 PM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Pennsauken Funeral Home, 6600 N. Browning Rd. A Final Viewing will be held on Friday from 10-11 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
