Obituary of Carmelo Cabrera

Carmelo "Chic" Cabrera, age 79 years of Camden, passed away on January 11, 2020. Beloved husband of Minerva Bonilla. cherished son of Leonor O. Perez; Devoted father of Beverly Cabrera-Santiago, Michelle Cabrera, Omar Santiago, Juan Carlos Cabrera, Erika Cabrera and the late Chic Enrique Cabrera. Loving grandfather of 7 and great grandfather of 1. Dear brother of Jose Antonio Cabrera, Nelson Cabrera, Luz Daisy Rivera and Jose Manuel Cabrera. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Prior to retirement, Chic was owner of Chic's Cafe in Camden for 12 years. In his younger years, Chic was a bodybuilder and won a local competition, earning him the title "Mr. Camden." He enjoyed horse racing, watching movies, and singing, but most of all he cherished his time spent with family and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation and Funeral on Wednesday from 9:30 AM at the Falco/Caruso & Leonard Camden Funeral Home, 3425 River Road, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill.
